Here are some programs and events we plan to run in the 2025 fall term. Join our mailing list or Discord server for updates. Don’t worry if you’re not the “typical” AI safety person — we’re open to everyone and there are many ways to help!

General Meetings 🍕

In each of our biweekly meetings, we’ll watch a video or read an article and then discuss our thoughts. There may also be some guest speaker events. Meetings are every other Tuesday 7-8 PM (join the mailing list for updates + location), and anyone can join. Sometimes there will even be free pizza!

AI Alignment Reading Group 🤖

A seminar-style reading group with weekly discussions on content similar to this online course. Learn the basics of AI safety and technical safety research. Apply here.

Project Team through MDST

Hosted through the Michigan Data Science Team, this project explores the intersection of ML interpretability and healthcare analytics. It aims to develop an understanding of statistical patterns, model interpretability, and the broader implications of deploying predictive algorithms in clinical settings. Follow the instructions to join through MDST before January 18th.
